Common Consumer Products that have Led to Serious Injury

It may surprise you to learn that many of the products we use every day can pose serious risks. While we rely on these items for convenience and comfort, design flaws, manufacturing defects, and even misuse can lead to devastating consequences. From seemingly innocuous household appliances to everyday personal care items, the potential for injury lurks where we least expect it.

1- Lawn Mowers-  Equipped with a dead-Man’s switch designed to stop the mower and disengage the cutting blade if the operator falls from the driver’s seat.  This switch is defective if a roll-over occurs and you are injured. If you suffer bodily injuries you may be entitled to financial compensation;

2- Safety Harnesses-  When used to safely secure a person at extreme heights, the harness are prone to fail if not manufactured properly, leaving people severely injured or worse.

3- Child Sleeping Rockers-  Fisher-Price Rock n Play Sleepers and similar products can cause infant fatalities due to child unrestrained unstrained rolling from the back onto the stomach or side.  Reports also include positional asphyxiation;

4- Elevator/escalator-  If a victim can prove the owner or outside company which maintained or repaired the elevator/escalator had a duty to prevent harm or injury, the duty of prevent harm was breached and the person was injured or suffered a type of loss.  If the elevator/escalator service/maintenance prover or owner failed to service the elevator per the recommended maintenance schedule and state regulations and law, failed to perform repair or repaired any part to the interior or exterior of the elevator or escalator the owner or the service/maintenance company, even the inspector can be held financially liable;

5- Airbag Defects- 
First, the 5 most common airbag injuries are:

  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI),
  • vision/eye loss or damage,
  • facial, chest,
  • artificial implants,
  • neck, collarbone, back (spinal cord) injury

….and a host of injuries due to ejection.

Other things to look for are:  evidence of shrapnel from a Tata airbag; deployment of airbag; incomplete deployment of airbag; drivers airbag deployed but passenger or torso or the curtain bag did not deploy;

6- Potentially dangerous medications: Depo-Provers, Oxbryta, suboxones, Syfovre, Tepezza, Valsartan and many more.
